About
The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade funds a talent support programme for exchange students, the Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship, to attract high-achieving international students who wish to enrol in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme as exchange students at the University of Luxembourg.

- United Kingdom (UK)
- Singapore
- Thailand
- Vietnam

Eligibility criteria
- International applicants from the selected countries mentioned above, applying for an exchange programme at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
- Must be accepted into their chosen exchange programme.
- Excellent academic performance during their studies.
- Nominated by their home university.
- Applicants must not be beneficiaries of Luxembourg’s State Financial Aid for Higher Education (formerly CEDIES)

Amount
The stipend amounts to approximately €5,700 per semester, including housing.
Scholarship benefits:
One part of the scholarship covers student accommodation, while the remaining portion is provided as a monetary allowance paid in installments. For exchange students, these installments are disbursed at the beginning and end of the exchange semester.Conditions:
The scholarship is subject to performance evaluation and may be withdrawn in cases such as academic misconduct, poor academic performance, or withdrawal from the programme.Restrictions:
The scholarship cannot be combined with any other grant financed by the Luxembourg government or with a similar scholarship funded by a private sponsor in Luxembourg. -
Accommodation
Part of the scholarship is used to fund the student’s accommodation in a university residence for the duration of the Master’s programme, ranging from €500 to €650 per month, for a maximum of one year.
The scholarship does not cover the security deposit or home insurance.Students are required to apply for accommodation in a timely manner and carefully follow the provided instructions and deadlines in the accommodation section.

Application procedure
Application deadline for the Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship:
- 15 May – for the winter semester or full academic year
- 1 November – for the summer semester
1. Apply for the Master’s programme:
First, students need to be nominated to our incoming office and invited to apply to the exchange programme at the university of Luxembourg.
2. Evaluation of your Master’s application:
Once your application is complete, it will be forwarded to the programme director of the selected Master’s programme.
3. Scholarship application:
- Students from the mentioned partner countries are automatically eligible to be considered for the Exchange Scholarship and will compete with other applicants for that semester.
We encourage you to follow these steps carefully to ensure that your application is managed efficiently.

Selection procedure
- Once all applications have been received, students will be ranked based on academic performance. Only the selected students will be notified if they have been awarded the scholarship.
- Upon arrival at the University of Luxembourg, scholarship recipients will sign a Scholarship Agreement, including a sworn declaration accepting the terms and conditions of the Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship.
