Support the Attracting Talent Fund
Luxembourg’s continued success in a rapidly evolving global economy depends on its ability to attract and retain highly skilled individuals. As one of Europe’s most stable and competitive economies, the country relies on a broad pool of expertise to meet national needs. Yet growing competition across Europe, paired with Luxembourg’s high cost of living, threatens its position as a top destination for skilled professionals. A proactive investment in young talent is needed to ensure that Luxembourg remains a place where the brightest minds choose to build their future.
The University of Luxembourg is responding to this challenge with the launch of the Attracting Talent Fund, a dedicated scholarship initiative for Master’s-level study. These scholarships aim to attract high-potential graduate students and encourage them to pursue their academic and professional paths in Luxembourg. By easing financial barriers, the Fund strengthens the University’s ability to recruit top candidates across priority disciplines and reinforces Luxembourg’s broader academic and research ecosystem.
Empovering future leaders through graduate education
Addressing financial barriers
For many students, graduate study is a critical professional turning point—and yet the financial realities of tuition, relocation, and especially living expenses, can present real barriers. Selected candidates often choose countries where financial support is more accessible, posing a practical challenge to Luxembourg’s ambition to remain competitive. Without adequate support, the country risks losing highly qualified individuals who could contribute meaningfully to research, innovation, and global advancement.
Investing in Luxembourg’s future
Given that more than 70% of graduate students choose to stay in Luxembourg following their degree, the Attracting Talent Fund represents a long-term commitment to advancing knowledge in areas critical to Luxembourg’s future—from digital innovation and biomedicine to sustainability and societal development. Supporting students at this formative stage helps build the intellectual and professional capacity the country needs to meet future challenges with confidence and purpose.
‟ I am deeply grateful for the Master’s scholarship I received to study at the University of Luxembourg. The support allowed me to fully dedicate myself to my studies. Looking towards the future, I hope to transform this support into tangible contributions by applying my knowledge in ways that positively impact the community. Thank you for your trust and generosity.”

A shared commitment
Supporting the Attracting Talent Fund is a meaningful way to contribute to Luxembourg’s long-term success by empowering exceptional students at a pivotal stage in their academic journey. Donors join a community committed to academic excellence and the development of high-level expertise across key fields. Where interests align, many donors choose to engage with selected students through dialogue, idea exchange, and collaborative opportunities, such as internships or research projects. Donor contributions are recognised in ways that highlight their role in advancing Luxembourg’s strength in knowledge and innovation.
How to support a scholarship
The total cost of tuition, rent, food, and other essential living expenses for a two-year Master’s degree is estimated at €50,000. A suggested minimum donation of €25,000 helps to reduce these costs by half – removing a significant barrier.
We invite you to contribute to the Attracting Talent Master’s Scholarship Fund and play a direct role in shaping the future of science and innovation in Luxembourg.
