EnergyLab

Powering the Future of Sustainable Energy

The Interdisciplinary EnergyLab is an advanced research facility dedicated to accelerating the energy transition. Designed as a living lab, it combines real-world experimentation with cutting-edge research, transforming the SnT building into a dynamic testbed for sustainable energy solutions.

A collaboration between the UBIX and FINATRAX research groups, the lab features a 20 kWp rooftop solar installationweather stations, and smart sensors that monitor power consumption, climate conditions, and occupancy. This data-rich environment enables the creation of a digital twin, allowing researchers to analyse energy flows, test new strategies, and optimise efficiency in real time.

By harnessing artificial intelligence, the lab aims to automate energy management, dynamically adjusting operations based on live energy production and demand. As a unique testbed for innovation, the Energylab bridges research and practical application, reinforcing Luxembourg’s role as a frontrunner in smart energy solutions.
