On 30 November 2020, the Interreg Greater Region PRODPILOT consortium awarded the company Parts Europe for their innovative productivity improvement project “Implementation of lean management”.
“Make companies aware of productivity” has been the motto of the Interreg Greater Region funded project PRODPILOT. The project helps Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) in the Greater Region to diagnose their status quo in productivity and find opportunities to improve it using lean and industry 4.0 methods and tools. As a part of the project, the consortium awards the productivity prize every year to identify the most innovative productivity improvement project. After a successful first award ceremony in 2019, the consortium awarded the prize for the second time in a virtual event. The event took place on 30 November 2020 as an integral part of Automotive Buyer & Supplier European Matchmaking Day and live streamed on Youtube.
Luxembourg entered the competition as defending champions after winning the award in 2019. The local jury nominated Minusines for the final competition at the Greater Region level. Minusines competed with Parts Europe from Rhineland-Palatinate and M&R Kreativ from Saarland. During the virtual event, Parts Europe emerged as a new champion of PRODPILOT Grand Prix 2020 with their project “Implementation of lean management”. The consortium congratulated the winner of the productivity award.
“Lean management stays relevant in the midst of fourth industrial revolution” adds Prof. Peter Plapper, project leader from the University of Luxembourg. “The project from parts Europe is a proof that tradition methods can still help SMEs to improve their productivity”, Peter adds while congratulating the winner.
