Every year, up to three students of the Master in European Governance at the University of Luxembourg will have the opportunity to complete their second year of studies at Central European University (CEU) in Vienna and obtain the Master degrees of both universities.

The Programme Structure

• The first year is carried out at the University of Luxembourg
• The second year is carried out at CEU in Vienna.
• Students will remain registered at the University of Luxembourg for the duration of their degree and will continue to pay the University of Luxembourg enrolment fees while at CEU. They are exempt from the fees of CEU.
• The language of instruction is English.

If the student complies with both universities’ rules and conditions, as for credits envisaged, attendance, deadlines, academic integrity etc., they will receive two degrees, which will be released according to each university’s procedures.

Who can apply/how to apply?

Students enrolled in the first year of the Master in European Governance of the University of Luxembourg can apply for this programme. The deadline for applications will be 10 February. The results of the selection process will be communicated after the exam jury at the end of February. A total of three places per year are available.

Requirements
Candidates for this program should meet the following requirements:

• An average of 14/20 in semester 1.
• English level C1 (normally no additional proof will be necessary, as all students of the Master in European Governance should meet this requirement as part of our own admissions procedure)
• Provide a good motivation letter explaining their interest in the dual degree with CEU (max. 500 words)

Selection process
We will select the three successful applicants to the dual degree based on their:

• Average grades at the University of Luxembourg
• Motivation letter for the dual degree
• Level of English

If applicants are very similar based on the first three criteria, we may take into account their past academic history (i.e. performance during their previous studies) and our impressions of their performance in the classroom (e.g. active participation, teamwork etc.).
