What do Leonardo da Vinci and the University of Luxembourg have in common? Interdisciplinarity

While the Master was renowned for his command of the arts, science, anatomy and architecture, the University also fosters collaboration among numerous areas of study.

Interdisciplinarity is one of Uni.lu’s priorities”, emphasised its rector Jens Kreisel on Thursday 27 June at the Nexus 2050 business event focusing on new technologies. Among these, artificial intelligence is taking centre stage: “AI will fuel interdisciplinarity“, Jens Kreisel stressed in his presentation.

A break with unpredictable consequences

With the emergence of megatrends such as health, digitalisation and sustainability, there are many opportunities for these fields to work together.

Is artificial intelligence transversal or deep knowledge? “I’m convinced it’s both“, insisted Jens Kreisel. This sector encompasses such varied knowledge and unpredictable trends that one thing is certain: a breakthrough is on the horizon, but we don’t know where it will take us.
The second day of the Nexus 2050 exhibition was marked by the presence of a number of speakers from the University of Luxembourg. Raphaël Frank, Djamila Aouada and Anja Leist took to the stage at Luxexpo The Box to share their knowledge with the forum participants. Former student Mara Kroth, founder of GoldenMe, was also among the panelists.
