Moments That Matter
-
February
On 11 February, we observe the International Day of Women and Girls in Science —a date chosen to honor the birthday of Marie Curie, a trailblazing physicist and chemist. This day celebrates the contributions of women in STEM and inspires future generations to pursue scientific careers. The Gender Equality Office is a partner in a national initiative and the campaign by the Faculty of Science, Technology, and Medicine Girls in Sci-tech.

March
Every March, we celebrate International Women’s Day (8 March). To mark this occasion, the Gender Equality Office hosts the Gender Days and a networking event dedicated to honoring the (often invisible) women’s accomplishments.
-
May
In May, we mark two important dates that celebrate diversity and inclusion: IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia) on 17 May, which raises awareness against LGBTQIA+ discrimination, and Luxembourg Diversity Day on 23 May, which highlights the value of diverse and inclusive workplaces and communities.
-
November
Starting on 25 November, Orange Week marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, with activities aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing action to end gender-based violence.
International Women’s Day
Each year on 8 March, International Women’s Day is celebrated globally. The University contributes to this celebration by organizing an online conference that examines the gender dimension in timely issues.
