Training
Highly individualized training fitting to the needs of the doctoral candidate and the research project:
- The Doctoral Programme provides a supportive and challenging environment for the education and training of doctoral candidates: excellent research setting and training, as well as training in transferable skills to improve future graduates’ employability (communication, project management, teaching, etc.).
- Doctoral candidates are trained to perform cutting-edge research in Mathematics at an internationally recognized level.
- The professional development of doctoral candidates is fostered, by learning to think independently, considering problems critically, and to conduct rigorous analyses.
- It is essential for doctoral candidates to learn important theories and techniques and to gain knowledge on the state of current research. Worldwide events and courses are offered: summer/winter/autumn/spring schools, block courses and online courses.
- Partnerships and collaboration between universities are also promoted (Doctoral Away Days, conferences).
- Scientific talks and lectures are a very important mean to obtain a broader horizon on mathematical research. The Doctoral Programmeoffers lots of seminars, talks every month.
