Training next generation scientists
As part of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM), the DSSE trains young researchers by supporting doctoral candidates and their supervisors throughout the doctoral life cycles. Within the framework of our Doctoral School and in close cooperation with the faculty research departments, doctoral candidates can attain competences for their personal career development.

In addition to the legal official regulations and to ensure smooth organisation of doctoral administration, further internal procedures and guidelines have been established and are set out in the statutes of the doctoral school (below).
As part of these procedures, a number of supporting documents (checklists, guidelines, templates, etc.) are available and can be requested from DSSE_administration@uni.lu.

Doctoral Training Units (DTUs)
A Doctoral Training Unit is a consortium of excellent researchers united around a coherent research and training programme. It is financed by the FNR’s main programme called PRIDE. It aims to support the development of critical mass in key research areas, by attracting excellent doctoral candidates to Luxembourg and offering them high quality research training.
