Registering at the LLC

Register to benefit from the full range of LLC services

If you just want to come and sit in the LLC to study, read or relax, there is no need to register. However, if you want to borrow books, use the computers or book a work space, registration is required. Registration is free and open to all residents in the Greater Region aged 16 or over.

Membership cards are issued by the librarians in the reception area of the LLC from 8.00 to 17.00 on weekdays and from 10.00 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 17.00 on Saturdays. Feel free to ask the librarians any questions about registration.
LLC regulations

  • Students and doctoral candidates at the University

    Register at the Welcome Zone in the LLC by presenting your student card (which will also become your library card). Your registration is valid for the duration of your studies.

  • University staff

    Download the registration form available via the intranet or register (with your UNI badge) in person at the information desk in the LLC Welcome Zone.

  • External users

    Residents of Luxembourg and the Greater Region (Belgian, French and German border areas*) can register in person in the Welcome Zone of the LLC. A form of identification is required.

    * the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and Eastern Belgium (Eupen and St Vith); part of the Moselle, Meurthe and Moselle and Meuse regions in France; the region around Trier and the Saarland in Germany.

  • Library ID and password

    All registered users can use the home loan offered by the Luxembourg library catalogue, a-z.lu. However only students and staff of the University of Luxembourg can use the online resources (articles, ebooks and databases). External users can only get access through the Luxembourg National Library.

    You have 2 options to login to a-z.lu:

    • Your uni.lu IT credentials (only for students and staff of the University of Luxembourg)
    • Your Bibnet.lu user identifier (printed on your library card)

    To create your password, click on “Sign in” in the upper right corner and then on “Forgot password?”.

    Please use your Bibnet.lu user identifier, while creating or changing your password..
