Bioinformatics Platform

The Bioinformatics Platform at the LCSB supports researchers by facilitating robust, reproducible, and scalable computational analyses for multi-omics data. We work closely with researchers at any stage of a project, spanning from initial project design to downstream data analyses. Please refer to the list of services below for more details.

Services

Every project has different constraints, sample types, and analytical requirements, and therefore discussion and collaboration ensure that the study design, metadata structure, and computational workflow are aligned to produce reliable, interpretable results

LCSB has strong computational and experimental research groups. The Bioinformatics platform seeks to strengthen the collaboration between groups by connecting wet- and dry- lab expertise. If you are:

  • An experimental/wet-lab researcher looking for support in bioinformatics and computational support.
  • A computational biologist who identified some interesting features and wants to pursue experimental validation to strengthen the findings from your data.

We support custom computing needs via the services of the LCSB Bioinformatics Core group. If you require computing that i) exceed your workstation’s capacity, ii) cannot run your software UL HPC due to operating system or wall-time constraints, iii) require hosting of your own tools, or iv) involve other specialised server or VM setups (e.g. Windows based). Reach out to us for tailored solutions.

If you know exactly what you need, then proceed to open a ticket on Service now. If you are unsure about what you need or have any questions, please reach out to sysadmins@uni.lu or LCSB-bioinformatics@uni.lu

NOTE: This service is subject to resource availability and case-by-case review.

We work with the Bioinformatics Core and Clinical and Translational Informatics groups the to support your data management needs. For instance, we can support administrative and technical tasks for accessing/transferring large amounts of sensitive (e.g. genomics) data from a collaborator or assist in drafting your Data Management Plan.

For the full range of services and support, please refer to the web pages Bioinformatics Core and Clinical and Translational Informatics
