MATh.en.JEANS: research projects for high school students

MATh.en.JEANS workshops are research-based mathematics projects carried out by small groups of students within their school.
Starting from a problem proposed by a researcher, students work for several months under the guidance of their teacher to propose solutions. They present the outcomes of their research at an annual and international conference that brings together the MATh.en.JEANS workshops of the region.
The subjects studied often have a playful or exploratory character and take students well beyond the mathematics of the high school curriculum.
