Learning outcomes
At the end of the programme, students will have acquired the competencies to:
– confidently apply philological methods and theories
– describe the time periods of German literature and critically situate them in the context of a cultural and media-historical perspective
– have a level of analysis that enables them to identify the relationships between German literature and other forms and discourses of social, aesthetic and cultural self-representation
– develop their knowledge of the German language and literature in a synchronic and diachronic perspective and apply it in a comparative and contrasting way as well as across cultures and nations
– to systematise their knowledge in the field of the German language and literature, and transfer it to other overarching contexts
– apply their knowledge of the German language and literature to specific questions in the academic context as well as to problems and questions in other professional situations
