Admissions

Specific information for this programme

  • Required Degree

    Bachelor degree or equivalent (180ECTS) in Humanities, which is recognised at all partner universities. The degree must contain at least 50 ECTS or equivalent in the field of German Studies.

    Applicants are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship covering travel expenses, visa fees, housing and living costs for 14 months. More information: https://transnationalgermanstudies.eu

  • Language Skills

    B2 certificate in German. B1 certificate in English.

  • Documents

    Students need to submit following documents:

    – a officially authenticated copy of the university degree diploma
    – a officially authenticated copy of the Transcript of Records (with details of your academic performance, including ECTS – credits – or equivalent – and classifications)
    – a copy of the applicant’s ID card / passport
    – a cover letter on the applicants’ motivation for participating in the programme and on their future career plans
    – a recommendation letter from a professor / lecturer in the area of German Studies
    – a CV

  • Procedure

    The applications must be submitted via the Universidade do Porto website.

    First phase applications will be open to all from February to March. A second round for any remaining places, will open from mid-April to May.
