Specific information for this programme

  • Required Degree

    Students can enter directly into the second year of this programme (M2) with the goal of obtaining a Master degree. This requires the successful completion of four years of studies amounting to 240 ECTS (or equivalent value), typically by having obtained a Master degree in law or equivalent studies including courses on European law. Students will be admitted upon decision of an admissions committee.

    Applicants who have successfully completed three years of studies amounting to 180 ECTS (or equivalent value, typically a Bachelor in Law or equivalent studies) are eligible to apply for the common first year of the Master in Law programmes at the University of Luxembourg (M1). It offers a variety of courses in European and international law from which students may choose in order to prepare for the specific requirements of the second year, including the Master in Space, Communication and Media Law (M2).

  • Language Skills

    • English: B2
    • French: B2 for the first year and B1 for the second year
      Please note that excellent applications will be considered without having this level of French, as supporting language classes will be offered and entering the programme with a very advanced level of English (only) and a background in the topics dealt with in the programme is possible subject to a decision by the admissions committee.

    – Cover letter detailing the motivation for choosing this Master specialization
    – CV
    – Copies of diplomas and transcripts
    – Supporting documents showing evidence of the necessary language skills required to follow the bilingual programme (B2 in English and B2 (first year) or B1 (second year) in French; or explanation of more advanced level of English plus background in the topics dealt with in the programme and intention to follow French language classes if admitted to the programme)
    – Applicants should also include at least one letter of recommendation from a referee and add the name of another that could be contacted.

      Your file will be sent to the student admission who will make a first check :
    • if documents are complete, the file will be sent to the selection committee/study directors
    • if the documents are incomplete, the candidate will be invited to send the missed documents within the deadlines
  • Application Procedure

    A selection committee will review completed applications on a rolling basis taking into consideration the complete application file. We are looking for future students that bring along a specific interest in the field covered by the Master in Space, Communication and Media Law and have expressed this in the motivation letter. Besides the motivation also previous degrees and grades, previous activities and the candidate’s background, language and other skills will be taken into consideration. Accepted students are informed of the decision and need to then complete the final administrative steps for enrolment.
