    About the award: The prize goes to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree) in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics, Banking track.

    About the ABBL: The ABBL is the largest professional association in the financial sector, representing the majority of financial institutions as well as regulated financial intermediaries and other professionals in Luxembourg, including law firms, consultancies, auditors, market infrastructures, e-money and payment institutions. The company provides its members with the intelligence, resources and services they need to operate in a dynamic financial market and in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

    About the Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière: Founded in September 2016, its purpose lies in supporting and promoting financial literacy and training initiatives. The goals of the Fondation are fourfold:

    • support and promote financial education in Luxembourg and abroad;
    • boost vocational training in the fields of professional finance;
    • sustain academic education via the University of Luxembourg; and
    • foster research via the financing of projects

    About the award: This prize is offered to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree) in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics, Investment Management track.

    About the ALFI: The ALFI is the official representative body for the Luxembourg investment fund industry and was set up in November 1988 to promote its development. The association plays a proactive role in leading industry efforts to turn Luxembourg into the most attractive international centre for domiciling and distributing investment and pension funds and the main gateway to the European and global fund markets.

    About the Germain Dondelinger Award: This award goes to the student with the best Master Thesis (all study disciplines), who fulfil the criteria of scientific excellence and innovative approach to the thesis problem. The Germain Dondelinger award was created by les Amis de l’Université to honour the late Germain Dondelinger, Government Commissioner to the University (2003-2014) and President of the Fonds Belval (2004-2014). 

    About the Portabella awards: The Portabella awards were created by les Amis de l’Université with the financial support of the Fondation Luis Portabella Y Conte Lacoste. The Portabella Academic Excellence Award is awarded to the Bachelor student (all disciplines) with the highest Grade Point Average. The Portabella Excellence Mobility Award is awarded to the Bachelor student (all disciplines) with the highest Grade Point Average during their mobility.

    About les Amis de l’Université du Luxembourg: Les Amis de l’Université du Luxembourg is a non-profit association founded in 2008 with a goal to contribute to the development of the University and promote its image regionally and internationally.

    About the Award: This award goes to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree) in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics “Risk Management” track.

    About the ACA: Founded in 1956, ACA is the professional association of Luxembourg insurers and reinsurers. ACA has 141 members, including 86 insurers and reinsurers, of either local or foreign origins.

    The Azizi scholarship for the European Union Law and Litigation Master

    About the award: Josef Azizi, former judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union presents this award each year to the 3 best students of the European Union Law and Litigation Master during the December graduation ceremony.

    About the award: The prize is awarded to the student with the best Thesis in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics “Digital Transformation in Finance” Track.

    About the Bank of China: As a Luxembourg-incorporated bank since 1979, together with the global presence of Bank of China Group, Bank of China Luxembourg has been successfully operating and continually developing its business over the years, and has contributed to the local and worldwide economic and social development. With nearly 40 years of expertise and experience in the European markets, Bank of China Luxembourg stands today as the Group’s European Regional Hub, extending its roots from Luxembourg to other European countries by setting up various branches in the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, and Portugal.

    About the award: The Barreau de Luxembourg sponsors two awards, bestowed upon the Bachelor and the Master in Law student with the highest-grade point average.

    About the Barreau du Luxembourg: The Luxembourg bar association (Barreau de Luxembourg) serves its members, the legal profession and the public by defending the rule of law and advancing professionalism in the field. It counts 2,500 registered lawyers, defending the rights of their clients.

    About the award: This award goes to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree) in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics “Sustainable Finance” track.

    About the chair: The Chair in Sustainable Finance will bundle educational and research capabilities with industry expertise and knowledge while benefitting from the support of these two Ministries. The project will focus on activities in three core domains: research, education and exchange. The project aims to help bring targeted change to Luxembourg’s financial industry, transforming it into a sector that supports more sustainable and inclusive economic systems by advancing cutting-edge research, developing high-quality teaching and certification programmes, attracting talent and promoting Luxembourg as a leading destination for providers of sustainable finance services. 

    About the award: The prize, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce, goes to the student of the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation with the best business plan.

    About the Chamber of Commerce: The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce was first founded in 1841 to represent and defend the interests of its members. The partnership with the University of Luxembourg aligns with the Chamber’s operational missions, which include promoting entrepreneurial spirit and business development as well as fostering an educational and training system aligned with business’s needs and market reality.

    About the award: Prize awarded to the student with the best Master thesis graduating from the Master of Science in Quantitative Economics and Finance.

    About the Economist Club Luxembourg: This organisation, which has existed since 1964, mainly aims to bring together professionals in economics, management and related fields in order to foster collegiality and solidarity. The association also promotes knowledge sharing through the organisation of conferences and seminars. 

    About the award: The prize is given to the student with the best Master thesis on the topic of European Law.

    About the Fondation du Mérite Européen: The Fondation is a Luxembourg non-profit association whose object is to recognise the achievements of individuals, or occasionally organisations, for their outstanding contribution to the advancement of the European ideal or for particular achievements of a transnational nature, over and above their strict professional achievements.

    About the award: The award is given for the best thesis within the Master of Science in Finance and Economics (Financial Economics track).

    About INVESTAS: INVESTAS is a Luxembourg association of private investors whose mission is to promote saving and encourage investing in moveable assets. INVESTAS aims to educate investors and defend their interests. 

    About the award: This award goes to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree) in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics “Digital Transformation in Finance” track.

    About the Luxembourg Stock Exchange: The Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) is the gateway to access international investors with a unique and integrated service offering covering listing, trading, information services and reporting.

    About the award: The prize goes to the student with the best thesis in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics “Sustainable Finance” track.

    About LuxFlag: LuxFLAG, the Luxembourg Finance Labelling Agency, is an independent and international, non-profit organisation created in Luxembourg in July 2006 jointly by public and private partners. The company aims to promote the raising of capital for the Sustainable Finance sector by awarding a recognisably label to eligible investment vehicles in Climate Finance, ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance), and Environment, Microfinance, and Green bonds.

    About the award: Award is offered to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree) in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics “Financial Economics” track. This prize is awarded by STATEC.

    About STATEC: STATEC is the National Institute for Statistic and Economic Studies of Luxembourg. It coordinates the statistic system of Luxembourg. STATEC aims at producing statistical data, analysis and studies giving a detailed, reliable and objective picture of Luxembourg society.

    About the Ministry of Economy: The Ministry of Economy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is responsible for all issues relating to Luxembourg’s economic interests such as business, technology and innovation policy, promotion, development and diversification of the economy, foreign trade, and policy on the legal protection of consumers. Its mission is to ensure the competitive environment and internal and external growth by diversifying the structure of the economy, supporting private investment, innovation, research, and simulating the development of international companies.

    About the award: This prize is awarded to the student with the highest Grade Point Average of the Master in Wealth Management.
