Specific information for this programme

  • Required Degree

    Students can enter directly into the second year of a Master in Law programme (M2) with the goal of obtaining a Master degree. This requires the successful completion of four years of studies, amounting to 240 ECTS, typically by having obtained a Master degree in law or equivalent studies including courses on European law. Students will be admitted upon decision of an admissions committee.

    The programme is also open to candidates with at least three (3) years of relevant professional experience in the field of investment funds, subject to validation of prior professional experience (VAE).

    B2 or higher in French and B2 or higher in English

    • Supporting documents showing evidence of the necessary language skills required to follow the bilingual programme (B2 or higher in French and B2 or higher in English).

      Your file will be sent to the student admissions office who will perform a preliminary screening:
    • if documents are complete, the file will be sent on to the selection committee/study directors
    • if the documents are incomplete, the candidate will be invited to send the missing documents within the deadlines

    • Relevance of the applicant’s background and quality/level of academic achievement in law, assessed on the basis of transcripts;
    • Applicant’s motivation, demonstrating intellectual curiosity, initiative, willingness to learn and the level of understanding, reflection and commitment to the investment funds law programme and the University’s academic community, assessed on the basis of the cover letter;
    • Suitability of the applicant’s expectations and the programme’s educational offer, assessed on the basis of the cover letter. The candidate should have a particular interest in investment fund law and Luxembourg;
    • Specific knowledge and skills in business law (e.g. commercial law, company law, banking law), European law and civil law (e.g. law of obligations, contract law, liability law), assessed on the basis of the CV and transcripts;
    • Academic references.
  • The ideal candidate

    An excellent bilingual (EN/FR) business law student, motivated by a specialisation in the field of investment funds law and aiming at a career in this sector, preferably in Luxembourg.
