Revision week, a key period in the academic calendar, runs from 3 to 8 June 2024. During this period, classes are suspended, and students can dedicate themselves to their revision. How can you make the most of this week and be ready for the session? Here are a few tips.

    Maintain a healthy lifestyle

Healthy living plays a crucial role during the exam period, as it is intrinsically linked to general well-being. Here are a few things to bear in mind:

    • Regular sleep patterns: A good night’s sleep helps to consolidate memory and mental recovery.
    • Balanced diet: Food is essential for maintaining energy and concentration. Choose a varied diet and opt for regular meals.
    • Physical exercise: Sport helps to reduce stress and improve cognitive function. Physical activity releases endorphins, the feel-good hormones, which improve your mood and help you study more effectively.

The Uni’s Student Department offers a range of sports courses and workshops to support students.

Maintain your well-being during the exam period

Taking care of your mental and physical well-being is just as important as revising for your exams. Here are a few tips to help you do just that:

    • Keep your morale up: Maintain a balanced routine, enjoy pleasant activities, and surround yourself with support. Talking to friends and family can help ease the pressure.
    • Manage stress: Use techniques and tools such as deep breathing, relaxation, positive visualisation, mindfulness, and physical exercise to reduce anxiety.
  • 3

    Optimise time and space management

To avoid a chaotic revision week, it’s crucial to manage your space and time well. This starts with finding a suitable place, such as the Luxembourg Learning Centre, which extends its opening hours during the exam period. Here are a few more tips:

    • Organisation: Set clear daily and weekly goals, use time management tools and prioritise tasks.
    • Planning: Create a realistic timetable, block out specific time slots for each subject and build in regular short breaks to avoid mental fatigue.
    • Work-life balance: Separate work and relaxation areas and carry out relaxing activities after revision periods.

By following this advice, you’ll be able to approach revision in a more organised and serene way, and maximise your chances of success during exams, while preserving your well-being.
