Joint powers of AI and Biomechanics to improve spine surgery outcomes

Did you know that nearly 40% of spinal surgeries require revision within two years? A more detailed preoperative planning could reduce this rate, to the delight of patients and medical practitioners. PhD Dominique Nicola and Luxembourg company MDSim are improving digital twins of the spine, adding precise paraspinal muscles to identify patient-specific prognosis.

Luxembourg celebrates 10 years of progress in Parkinson’s research

What began as a national effort to bridge fundamental science, clinical practice, and patient engagement has evolved into an internationally recognised research alliance: National Centre for Excellence in Research on Parkinson’s Disease (NCER-PD). Since its creation 10 years ago, NCER-PD has achieved important milestones in understanding the disease, contributing to new strategies for precision medicine and prevention.

Studying at the University of Luxembourg is a uniquely enriching experience. The programmes impart cutting-edge knowledge in a highly international, multilingual and distinctly interdisciplinary environment. Small classes ensure direct interaction between students and teaching staff.

Admission applications to the study programmes for the 2025-2026 academic year can be submitted as of 1 February 2025. The admission application for the 2025/2026 academic year is now closed for non-EU candidates. EU candidates can still apply for select study programmes.
