Safeguarding Critical Infrastructure Against Cyber Threats

Systems and Network Security (SNS)

The SNS group conducts applied research on cutting-edge technologies to enhance the security of critical systems and networks against evolving cyber threats. Our work supports the Luxembourg Government’s Cybersecurity Competence Hub (Cyber Research Hub), addressing the nation’s most pressing cybersecurity priorities. We specialise in developing and applying techniques to identify vulnerabilities, assess their potential impact, and defend against sophisticated, persistent threat actors.

    Our Research

We focus on building secure and resilient systems through five core areas of research:

    Vulnerability detection in critical infrastructure

Identifying weaknesses in essential services and developing effective countermeasures.

    Automation of security operations

Streamlining workflows in Security Operations Centres (SOCs) and cyber defence teams.

    Mission-critical IoT resilience

Hardening and improving the reliability of networks that support vital connected devices.

    Cyber threat intelligence

Gathering and analysing large volumes of threat data to anticipate and counter attacks.

    Human-driven attack prevention

Addressing insider threats and other people-based risks that technology alone cannot solve.
