Vincent Lenders is a full professor of Cybersecurity and FNR PEARL Chair at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), University of Luxembourg, where he leads the Systems and Network Security (SNS) group.
Research
His research focuses on the security and privacy of critical infrastructure, with an emphasis on wireless and networked systems. He has contributed to a wide range of areas, including physical-layer wireless security, network security, cyber defence, and the use of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 49) and serves on the organisational and technical committees of several leading security conferences and workshops.

Vincent is co-founder and board member of the OpenSky Network and Electrosense associations, which promote open data and collaborative sensing in wireless communication systems. From 2012 to 2016, he was industrial director of the Zurich Information Security and Privacy Center (ZISC) at ETH Zurich.
Awards/Distinctions
Vincent has received numerous awards, including a PEARL Chair from the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), best paper honours from IEEE WONS 2012, DFRWS EU 2015, ACM CPSS 2015 and 2021, and DASC 2015, as well as the Security Award 2011 from the Swiss Federal Department of Defense.
Work experience
Between 2019 and 2025, Vincent was head of the Cybersecurity and Data Science Division at the Swiss Federal Office of Defence Procurement (armasuisse) and founding director of the Cyber-Defence Campus. From 2008 to 2018, he worked as a cybersecurity researcher and programme manager at armasuisse.
Educational background
Vincent holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from ETH Zurich and completed postdoctoral research at Princeton University.
