During school holidays, the Scienteens Lab organises interdisciplinary workshops dedicated to students aged 14 and over.

This Scienteens Academy focuses on computer science and space engineering. It introduces participants to the fundamentals of small satellite development, from system architecture to basic programming and testing. This four-day interdisciplinary workshop combines space technology, electronics, programming and engineering-relevant topics.

Participants build and assemble a small, functional satellite model using easy-to-handle electronic components similar to those used in real space missions. Working with a LEGO Education SPIKE kit, a Raspberry Pi board, and additional commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components, they design their own version of a CubeSat satellite following step-by-step technical guidance.

Throughout the whole week, students explore how different subsystems work together within a satellite. The program includes technical demonstrations, guided assembly sessions, testing phases and discussions about real-world satellite missions and space engineering challenges.

This workshop will take place from 17 to 20 August on campuses Belval & Kirchberg. It will be taught in English.
