  • Description Institute

The SciTeach Center is a teacher education resource center dedicated to promoting the teaching and learning of sciences in Luxembourg. Established in 2016, the aim of SciTeach is to create and support a sustainable, collaborative, network for primary school teacher professional development for teaching science in Luxembourg.

The SciTeach Center team brings together university researchers, detached primary school teachers, and administrative support staff to collectively develop opportunities for teachers that include professional development courses, innovative teachers’ guides, and collaborative research opportunities, all around the teaching and learning of science at the primary school level, in particular.

In particular, the team has developed a comprehensive in-service professional development program for science education, embedded in a research-driven concept, that supports teachers in the development of their educational praxis, particularly in primary school science and with culturally and linguistically diverse students.

With its diverse projects, initiatives, and activities, the SciTeach Center seeks to promote science to the public. Furthermore, one of the goals of the SciTeach Center is to highlight the interplay of academic research and professional development for primary school teachers.
