Research Group Knowledge Discovery and Mining (MINE)

Generating AI

The MINE research group sees itself as an AI ecosystem that deals with various aspects and applications of AI in the applied environment. We are working in the context of generative AI for digital storytelling (humanities; art), on natural language challenges such as automatic text summarisation or the recognition of moods in text corpora, ethical and legal aspects such as the question of fairness and responsibility, medical AI applications such as in the field of speech and for an intelligent medication dispenser, or also for chatbot systems in the role of a stimulating element to improve communication between human actors. It is imperative that we approach the development and use of AI with a keen awareness of its ethical and societal implications and ensure that the results serve the common good.

Research in our group

In today’s digital age, the sheer volume and complexity of data generated across various domains have surpassed the capabilities of traditional methods for analysis and understanding. This is where Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a transformative force, offering unparalleled opportunities to unlock the insights hidden within vast datasets.
