Dr. Yansong ZHANG

Yansong Zhang is a Postdoctoral researcher of Experimental Soft Matter Physics (ESMP) group led by Professor Jan Lagerwall in the Department of Physics and Materials Science at the University of Luxembourg. He is also Laboratory Safety Coordinator of ESMP group.

Yansong Zhang’s research primarily lies in liquid crystals, functional polymers, and optoelectronics, which has been broadened to encompass a wide array of applications including display technologies, liquid crystal lasers, photovoltaic systems, microfluidics, planar optics, and optical sensors.

Yansong received the Excellence Award as the Postdoctoral researcher of the Young Scholar Innovative Research Competition (Taiwan Comprehensive University System) in 2021.

Excellence Award in the Postdoctoral Researcher of the Grand Review Research Competition (National Cheng Kung University) in 2020.

Between 2018 and 2021, Yansong was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Photonics, at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.

He joined the University of Luxembourg in 2022.

Yansong Zhang obtained his Bachelor in Applied Chemistry at Central China Normal University in China. He received his Master and PhD in Chemical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.
