FSTM Innovation Day

FSTM Innovation Day 2026

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine will organise its first Innovation Day on 5 October 2026 at Tramsschapp. A special moment to gather colleagues, partners and students and celebrate the inspiring collaborations the Faculty has cultivated over the past years.

AI in Science: when research meets industry and society

Artificial Intelligence is accelerating research in unprecedented ways: from predicting protein structures to modelling climate futures, from designing new materials to rethinking healthcare diagnostics. But its influence extends far beyond the laboratory. Industry is rapidly integrating AI into production, logistics, energy, and biotechnology, creating new opportunities and responsibilities. At the same time, society is grappling with the ethical, economic, and cultural implications of these technologies, raising essential questions about trust, transparency, and equitable access.

This first Innovation Day will explore this evolving landscape through the lens of collaboration. How can researchers and industry partners co‑create knowledge that is both cutting‑edge and socially meaningful? How do we ensure that AI‑driven science remains open, responsible, and aligned with human values? And how can Luxembourg position itself as a leader in this new era of intelligent innovation?

Join us as we bring together scientists, entrepreneurs, students, and societal actors to imagine the future of AI‑powered science one where creativity meets responsibility, and where innovation serves the common good.
