Study Programmes Bachelor in Midwifery Sciences

Programme

In terms of ECTS for students, the teaching is equally divided between theory and clinical education.
30 ECTS credits are dedicated to the mobility semester. The acquisition of skills takes place through a combination of theoretical and practical modules, as well as through the application of skills during clinical education (placements).
The first year will focus on learning fundamental sciences, with the aim of introducing students to the culture and professional conduct of a midwife.
To better support students in their learning, the progression of studies will begin with foundational subjects focusing on physiology, then move towards pathology, and finally culminate in a holistic view of the midwifery profession.
Research in midwifery sciences is an integral part of the programme, taught from the first year. This module covers various fields and issues across disciplines, including the practice of the midwifery profession, education, evolution in society, where midwives play an increasingly important role, as well as health system organisation and healthcare services.
