Specific information for this programme

  • Required degree

    The applicant must:

    • hold a 240 ECTS Bachelor’s degree in educational sciences (or a comparable 240 ECTS higher education degree qualifying for teaching in fundamental school);

    • be a practicing teaching professional in—or around—Luxembourg fundamental education;

    • have already completed the mandatory traineeship (stage) for job starters at the Institut de formation de l’Éducation nationale (IFEN)

  • Language Skills

    Be proficient in all three administrative languages (i.e., French, German, Luxembourgish) and have a reasonable command of English.

  • Documents

    In addition to the documents required for enrolment at the University of Luxembourg, applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation. These documents should cover the candidate’s academic and professional background (including continuing professional development activities), expectations of the study programme and professional objectives.

  • Procedure

    The application must be submitted through the online application portal of the University of Luxembourg.

  • Criteria

    • Relevance of the course and quality/level of academic or university results.
    • Motivations put forward by the candidate, attesting to their intellectual curiosity, their spirit of initiative, their willingness to learn and the level of understanding, reflection and expected engagement with regard to the program of study and the academic community of the University, evaluated on the basis of the admission essay or the cover letter.
    • Professional experience, if applicable, assessed on the basis of the CV.
    • Previous extra-curricular activities of interest for the program, showing a capacity for initiative, responsibility and intellectual and professional curiosity, evaluated on the basis of the CV.
