About
The Multiplikatoren project is a collaborative professional development initiative that brings together in-service elementary science teachers and university researchers. The participants meet once a month at the SciTeach Center and take part in a 4-hour formation continue session held every Tuesday throughout the entire school year. Each session combines hands-on science activities, reflective discussions, and engagement with relevant theoretical frameworks in elementary science didactics. The goal is to strengthen science teaching practices through inquiry-based and experiential learning approaches that respond to the fast-changing realities of the classrooms. The Multiplikatoren Netzwerk functions as a dynamic community of practice. Teacher and researchers co-plan, co-construct, and co-evaluate science education projects and activities. By sharing classroom experiences and collaboratively exploring new teaching materials and approaches, the group promotes a culture of ongoing professional learning. Central to the initiative is the idea of positioning teachers not merely as recipients of knowledge, but as active contributors and change agents within the educational system. The network encourages critical reflection, peer feedback, and experimentation with innovative, competency-based science teaching strategies. By bridging theory and practice, and by fostering collaboration across different schools/ institutions, the Multiplikatoren initiative supports sustainable improvements in elementary science education across Luxembourg.
