Discover the World of Fact-Checking
For more than two decades, fact-checking has been part of journalism but in the era of social media, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the 2020 US elections, it has become a central part of our daily vocabulary. Yet, what does fact-checking truly mean in practice? How does it work behind the scenes? And what does it take to be a fact-checker today?
Join us on 28 October at the University of Luxembourg for a unique event hosted by the MEDIACentre, the Institute of Digital Ethics (ULIDE), EDMO BELUX (European Digital Media Observatory) and RTL Lëtzebuerg.
Students, teachers, and staff are invited to meet professional fact-checkers and experts in disinformation mitigation, ask questions, and gain firsthand insight into how truth is verified in the digital age.
This event will also be an opportunity to meet with the members of the research projects REMEDIS (REgulatory and other Solutions to MitigatE online DISinfomation) and FAMOUS (Fake Activity Market Observation system of Unethical Services) who will be present to show their activities.
