Research & Teaching Facilities

Our GIS Lab (Maison des Sciences Humaines, 1st floor) provides 20 specialist workstations for students. They are equipped with the latest release of the industry standard Geographic Information System ESRI ArcGIS Pro, as well as open-source software such as R and QGIS. This provides students with the opportunity to develop GIS, remote sensing and spatial data modeling skills that are commonly requested by employers.

The GIS Lab

Developing Spatial Mapping and Analysis Skills

Our dedicated GIS Labs enables our Master students to
develop skills associated to spatial data acquisition, analysis and geographic visualisation to support geographical and spatial planning enquiry.
Students have almost exclusive use of the lab during the
semester and are able to make use of the freely available
computers.

We encourage our students to develop an interest in mixed methods and support the application and exploration of GIS in a wide variety in scenarios that make use of qualitative / quantitative data.
