Ellma Bahtijari and Dylan Esteves are both students of the Bachelor in Applied Management programme at the University of Luxembourg.

Ellma has recently completed her fourth semester exams and will start her internship with Bâloise in February 2022. Dylan, who will join Bâloise in 2023, will start his 3rd semester in September this year. Both students have been selected for the Bâloise fellowship which offers financial support and an internship in our company to a maximum of 5 students each year.

Ellma is excited to start her internship; “I am extremely happy to be able to work with you for a whole semester! Bâloise is really committed to its future interns, so I feel confident that I am in good hands! I have no doubt that I will be working in a department that will be a good fit for me and where I can learn a lot!”, she said. “I’m looking forward to starting my career with an internship in a company based on values I can identify with. I am aware of the effort required and hope to learn as much as possible during this time”, added Dylan.

Having the possibility to do this internship is a real benefit for the students. “Not having to look for an internship during this period of uncertainty is such a relief, and I would obviously like to thank Bâloise and Ms. Fransen for the trust they had in me during the student selection process”, commented Dylan. Ellma feels the same way: “Now, knowing that I have found a good placement, I will be even more motivated, and I will be able to concentrate more on my courses at the university. It’s definitely less stressful, she said.

The financial support will be put towards studies. “The grant will allow me to concentrate fully on school and to acquire the materials necessary for the university training. At the same time, I plan to take a class in Luxembourgish, which is partly paid, to improve my language level”, explained Dylan. Ellma has taken the same approach. She added: “I want to make the most of it by buying something necessary for my studies and my internship, like a new laptop.”

Laurence Fransen, Director of Human Resources at Bâloise, is delighted with these new recruits: “I am sure that Ellma and Dylan will integrate easily into the departments that they will join. They will learn the job for which they are destined, and they will be well supervised. We are here to support them in their professional as well as in their academic careers.”

“I would like to thank our partner, Bâloise, for the fellowship and internship opportunity granted to our Bachelor of Management students, Ellma and Dylan. We remain fully convinced that this enriching interaction with the business world is the best way to implement learning and to facilitate the integration of young people into the labour market. We hope to continue this partnership, which has already proved to be very fruitful”, commented Prof. Katalin Ligeti, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance.
