Courses provided by the INLL

The University works with the Institut National des Langues Luxembourg (INLL) for general language courses.

The University community has access to all sites where the INLL provides classes.
All courses are fee-based.

INLL sites:

Language levels are based according to the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Bachelor and Master students: No ECTS are allocated to INLL courses.

INLL courses for students and doctoral candidates

The INLL pricing schedule apply for all language courses and full payment should be completed directly with the INLL.

Summer semester: February to July 2024

Registration: from 7 February 2024

Partial reimbursement only for INLL French, German, English or Luxembourgish courses.

At the end of the semester, a partial reimbursement is made by the University subject to the following conditions:

  • Registration in a French, German, English or Luxembourgish course taken at INLL,
  • Minimum attendance of 50%* of the course over the semester,
  • Participation in the final exam at the end of the semester.

(*) the attendance conditions will increase to 75% from the summer semester 2023-24

Only one reimbursement per language

Amount of the reimbursement:

  • 140€ for all courses which fee amounts 200€ or more
  • 75€ for courses which fee amounts 110€

Reimbursement procedure (at the end of the semester)

Reimbursement request for courses taken in the winter semester 2023-2024: available as from 1 February 2024

  • Step 1

    Fill in the online form reimboursement request between 1 and 29 February 2024.

  • Step 2

    Send an email by 1 March 2024 to languagecentre@uni.lu with the 2 following documents to be downloaded from your INLL portal:

    • Attendance certificate
    • Bilan de compétences
  • Step 3

    Check that you have filled in your bank coordinates on your Student Portal (“Guichet Étudiant”) Please pay attention to IBAN or NON IBAN format.

    Please make sure you indicate “Reimbursement request – NAME & SURNAME” in your email subject.

    The reimbursement will be made by bank transfer by the end of April 2024.
