Department for Partnerships and Advancement

The Department for Partnerships and Advancement at the University of Luxembourg is committed to enhancing the societal relevance and impact of academic excellence. Its core mission is to bridge the divide between research, education, and society by cultivating strategic collaborations, advancing the valorisation of research, and fostering meaningful engagement with external stakeholders.

A cornerstone of the Department’s work lies in championing technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and innovation as vital drivers of socio-economic progress. By supporting the development and protection of intellectual property (IP), and facilitating the creation of start-ups and spin-offs, the Department empowers students, researchers, and alumni to translate knowledge into tangible, real-world solutions — economically, culturally, and socially.

Through the alignment of external relations and the promotion of a culture of impact, the Department seeks to position the University of Luxembourg as a dynamic and globally connected institution, deeply rooted in the Luxembourgish innovation ecosystem.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Building and nurturing strategic partnerships with public and private stakeholders to amplify the University’s impact and reach
  • Supporting and accelerating technology transfer initiatives, including IP management and commercialisation
  • Leading a vibrant culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within the University community
  • Facilitating the creation and growth of start-ups and spin-offs emerging from University research
  • Contributing to fundraising efforts that support the University’s strategic objectives
  • Strengthening and expanding alumni relations to build a lifelong, engaged community
