Gender Days
Exploring Gender in a Changing World
Since 2022, Gender Days has been an annual event series organised by the University of Luxembourg to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on contemporary issues at the intersection of gender, society, and technology. The series has attracted hundreds of participants globally, with each edition bringing together leading experts and thought leaders to examine how gender shapes—and is shaped by—our evolving world.
Past editions have included Gender and the Pandemic (2022), Gender and Conflict (2023), Gender and the Brain (2024), and Gender and Economic Insecurity (2025).
Gender Days 2026 | Gender and the evolution of desire
This year’s edition explores how biology, culture, and markets influence attraction in the modern world. Through a video podcast-style conversation moderated by BBC journalist Tanya Beckett, four featured experts discussed how digital infrastructures transform desire and relationships in contemporary societies.
An engaging 90-minute online panel was held on 3 March, which combined cutting-edge research with critical perspectives on intimacy, technology, and gender. Watch the recording here:
The main themes and discussions were summarized through sketches by visual communicator Caroline Schuler.
