Admissions

Proof of Language Skills

All applicants must demonstrate the required level of competence in all teaching languages of their chosen programme at the University of Luxembourg. The required language skills for each programme are listed on the dedicated programme web page, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). If multiple languages are listed on the programme web page, this indicates that the programme is multilingual, and applicants must provide proof of competence in all listed languages, unless stated otherwise.

Applicants must demonstrate their language skills in one or more of the following ways:

Note

Following the review of your application, the Admissions Office reserves the right to request additional information regarding your language proficiency.

Study programmes may have specific prerequisites about language test certificates and minimum levels. For more details, please refer to the dedicated web page for each study programme.

Applicants who do not meet the required language level for all teaching languages before the application deadline are not eligible for admission in that application cycle.

Special Cases

Students from a country with two official administrative languages, who have completed their entire schooling in one of these languages, are not required to provide a certificate for that language.

However, if the second language is also required for admission to one of our programmes, a language certificate for that language will be necessary.
