Watch the Uni.lu New Year’s toast

At the University’s New Year’s toast on 15 January, the rectorate presented achievements and key moments of the past year. This included accomplishments in research, education, in corporate development and science in society, but also difficult moments lived in 2025.

In front of 500 members of staff and doctoral students, the rectorate addressed the allegations of misconduct that were reported in Luxembourg media. Rector Jens Kreisel briefed members of the University on how the management had responded to the allegations and the steps it has taken to investigate the issue and seek areas for improvement in its processes and structures.

Jens Kreisel explained that new partner universities of the Guild had received anonymous e-mails compiling the media reports and inviting the partners to draw their conclusions regarding the University of Luxembourg.

In their final words, members of the rectorate expressed that University’s success is attached to each and every one’s contribution, to commitment, passion and sense of community.
