Each year, Luxembourg’s flagship acceleration programme Fit 4 Start selects the most promising startups to support with funding, coaching, and access to a vibrant innovation ecosystem. For the University of Luxembourg, having its few startups and spin-offs selected for it every year reflects the institution’s growing role in shaping the country’s entrepreneurial landscape.
This year, three Uni.lu startups have made it into the Fit 4 Start cohort: CRAB, MoveMe and Hale-X. Their stories are not just about business – they are about people, purpose, and the power of research-driven innovation. Let’s discover these three outstanding business and people behind them!
CRAB: Mobile Waste Intelligence System
Born out of applied research in AI and circular economy, CRAB Traceability Systems develops mobile solutions that turn waste into valuable data. Its patent-pending AI camera system automatically identifies and quantifies waste on-site, reducing hours of manual work to minutes and enabling data-driven decisions for recycling and resource management.
‟ CRAB has the team, technology, and traction and with Fit 4 Start’s support, it is now scaling its business and partnerships across Europe.”

Hale-X: From complex health data to life-saving insights
Hale-X is a health-tech startup developing AI-enabled Digital Human Twins that integrate multimodal health data to support real-time clinical decision-making and advance preventive, personalised medicine.
Its first solution, Hemalyse, automatically analyses blood tests to help clinicians diagnose faster and more accurately, while giving patients clearer awareness of their own health state. Hale-X combines hybrid AI, medical knowledge graphs, and secure data flows to build predictive and explainable healthcare tools. Hale-X is currently validating its technology with clinical partners to deliver transparent, trustworthy, and patient-centric AI in practice.
‟ Being selected for Fit4Start is a powerful validation of our mission. It gives us the support and momentum we need to prove our technology in real clinical settings and keep pushing toward preventive, personalised care.”
