The Luxembourg AI Factory is a national, EU Commission-backed initiative accelerating responsible AI adoption in Finance, Space, Cybersecurity, and the Green Economy — with Luxinnovation as lead and LIST, LNDS, LuxProvide, and SnT as consortium members.

SnT contributes its research partnership model and trustworthy AI expertise – including the AI Assessment Sandbox Configurator, a tool enabling organisations to evaluate their AI systems against EU AI Act requirements before formal compliance.

Organisations engaging with SnT through the AI Factory gain access to the national AI adoption programme, sovereign compute infrastructure, and a structured pathway to EU AI Act compliance — with SnT’s research expertise embedded throughout.

Luxembourg’s ambition to become a European hub for sovereign AI required a partnership model combining world-class research with deep industry expertise, one that could attract senior researchers to the ecosystem and align with EU regulatory developments.

A named research chair focused on Sovereign AI embedded within SnT’s AI and cybersecurity programme, with a Centre of Excellence providing a long-term institutional framework for joint research, PhD co-supervision, and shared infrastructure access.

Access to SnT’s AI and cybersecurity expertise, proximity to EU regulatory developments, a named presence in Luxembourg’s strategic AI ecosystem, a PhD talent pipeline, and integration into national data, AI, and quantum initiatives.

Enterprise security teams needed AI-powered threat detection operating at scale, meeting European data sovereignty requirements, and validated against real operational conditions not just lab benchmarks.

SnT researchers developed the core AI detection engine, leveraged MeluXina HPC for large-scale training and validation, and structured the IP for commercial licensing — completing the full journey from academic research to deployable product.

A market-ready product built on peer-reviewed research, access to MeluXina’s sovereign compute for ongoing development, a licensing structure protecting both parties’ interests, and a validated path to international market deployment.
