Hanna Marxen was born and raised in Germany but has also lived in Luxembourg, Switzerland and Spain. Previous to her PhD position at SnT, she received her Master’s degree in Intercultural Psychology from the University of Osnabrück (2021) and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Luxembourg (2018). During her studies, she worked as an intern in two management consultancies as well as a research assistant in various research projects at the University of Luxembourg, University of Twente and University of Vechta.
Currently, she is a member of the FINATRAX research group and of the INDUCTIVE project team. Her primary focus is on examining the consumer perspective in the energy transition. To better understand their perspective, she mainly designs surveys for consumers and analyzes the data using statistical methods.
So far, her main focus has been on the topic of smart charging, including the acceptance of direct load control programs and provision of flexibility in smart charging, as well as data sharing with smart charging apps and privacy considerations. In general, she finds the consumer perspective interesting across various energy transition topics and smart technologies. She is particularly interested in exploring how technology related to the energy transition can be designed in a way that ensures its acceptance among consumers.
