ULIDE Opening Event

The opening event of the University of Luxembourg Institute for Digital Ethics (ULIDE) marks an important milestone following its launch in January 2025. ULIDE is an interdisciplinary hub dedicated to providing guidance on the ethical implications of digitalisation, with a focus on application-oriented analysis, strategic policy recommendations, public engagement and knowledge transfer. Over the past year, ULIDE has established its foundations and developed a strong programme of work across research, policy, and society.

This event celebrates the completion of ULIDE’s initial phase and formally presents its vision, activities, and ambitions to the wider community. It offers an opportunity to reflect on a productive first year and to introduce how the Institute aims to contribute to ethical, responsible, and inclusive digital transformation in the years ahead.

The opening will take place at the Halle des Poches, Belval. Programme for the inaugural event of the ULIDE, starting from 15.00, as follows:

  A brief roadshow after 15 months, Prof. Dr. Georg Mein | Director of ULIDE

• Keynote Address

  “The Future of Ethics in the Age of AI” by Prof. Dr. Jeroen van den Hoven | Scientific Director of the Delft Design for Values Institute, Technical University of Delft

• Digital Governance in Crisis Affected Regions
