On 21 November 2024, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Lidia Farré from Barcelona School of Economics.

As part of our lecture series on Cross-Border Labor Mobility, Prof. Farré delivered an insightful lecture on “The role of public policies in addressing gender and ethnic gaps in the labor market”.

The course explored the systemic biases and socio-cultural factors contributing to labour market inequality. Students analysed policies aimed at reducing these disparities, including family policies, gender quotas, affirmative action, and anti-harassment initiatives. Emphasis was placed on using diverse methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of these policies, equipping participants to critically engage with current debates and shape future labour market equity.

Students of the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management attend the lecture.

This lecture series is organised by Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) & the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management from the University of Luxembourg, in the framework of the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Luxembourg funded project: ACROSS.
