Overview

The Luxembourg Learning Centre has works by all major French and French-language authors accompanied by critical apparatuses, books about the French language, and a general literature and linguistics collection. All print and electronic resources can be found via the a-z.lu catalogue. Current issues of print journals are located on the display shelves at the beginning of each collection, classified alphabetically by title. Older issues need to be ordered (see Journals). Part of the collection, together with literature in French (fiction and criticism) from Belgium, Africa, Vietnam, Oceania, the French West Indies and Quebec, can be found in The Stacks, on floor -2 of the LLC.
Examples for classification codes are as follows:

  • 840: French literature (history and theory)
  • 84/1-92: Authors and their critical apparatus are classified by period and in alphabetical order
  • 84 BE/AS/AF and AM: Literature in French
  • 800: General literature
  • 440: French language
  • 400 and 410: Linguistics
