On Sunday 9 November 2025, you can participate in an interactive science workshop called “The many faces of cancer” at the Luxembourg Science Center. Come by at 14:00, 15:00 or 16:00 to learn more about how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used for cancer disgnostics:
Have you ever thought about why treatment works in some patients but not in others? In this hands-on activity, you’ll explore how scientists are using DNA sequencing to uncover the hidden differences between cancers, and how that can change the way we treat them. Plus, you’ll see how AI is becoming a powerful tool to make sense of all that complex data! No lab coat needed, just your curiosity and an open mind!
The workshop is available for free in the context of a general admission ticket to the Luxembourg Science Center (0-15€). This workshop is offered in English and take around 50 minutes. Anyone above 12 years of age can participate. This workshop is offered by Marta de Lucas Sanz, a doctoral candidate at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH).
More workshops will be offered at the Luxembourg Science Center during November (see below). To stay up to date and check out all the offers visit descom.uni.lu. The workshops are carried out by students of the University of Luxembourg in the context of a DESCOM training supported by the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) as well as the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and the André Losch Fondation.
