If you ever wondered what biomedical research is and what a laboratory looks like, then join us for a guided tour in our wet and dry labs!

On the 19th of March, the University of Luxembourg invites the public to its Open Day. A day where future students, parents and the general public can discover the university’s study programmes, the interdisciplinary centres and their research, meet other students and teachers and visit the several facilities of Campus Belval.

In this occasion, the LCSB invites you to take a look behind the scenes. If you ever wondered what biomedical research is and what a laboratory looks like, then join us for a guided tour in our wet and dry labs!

There will be 4 scheduled tours to explore the LCSB’s research where scientists from different disciplines (biology, medicine, informatics, mathematics, physics, engineering, etc.) work together to better understand the mechanisms underlying diseases and develop new avenues for disease prevention, diagnosis, and therapy.

 Curious about:

  • What is Parkinson’s disease and how it’s being researched?
  • What is a molecular disease map?
  • Why are data analysis and bioinformatics so important?
  • What is the microbiome?
  • What role do our intestinal bacteria play in the development of diseases?
  • How does an artificial bowel model work in the lab?

Then come and experience the real life of a scientist and join one of the LCSB lab tours!

When will the guided tours take place?

Topic 1: Parkinson’s Disease Map (45 min)

  • Meeting point: In front of the Maison du Savoir
