Join the next lecture of the LCSB on Tour series in Olm (Kehlen)!
In their talk, Prof. Anne Grünewald, head of the “Molecular & Functional Neurobiology” at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine, and Dr Lukas Pavelka, researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Health and neurologist for the Centre Hospitalier du Luxembourg, will present how research is opening up new avenues for the treatment and prevention of Parkinson’s disease.
Despite intensive research, Parkinson’s disease remains incurable to this day. However, progress in molecular biology is helping scientists better understand how the disease works — from genetic changes and cell signaling to markers that show how it develops. This growing knowledge is allowing treatments to be more personalised, based on each patient’s biology. It opens the door to precision medicine that not only eases symptoms but also aims to slow or prevent the disease early on.
The lecture will be given in German (no translation will be available on site). Registration is recommended but not compulsory.
