Anastasia TRUBACHEVA

Anastasia Trubacheva is a Doctoral Researcher at the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL)  and a PhD candidate at the University of Luxembourg.

Her areas of interest cover international procedural law, private international law, comparative procedural law, human rights, legal methodology, and modern technologies. Her PhD focuses on the existing mechanisms of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in economic matters between the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in comparison with the Brussels and the Hague regimes.

Anastasia obtained the status of an Associate Fellow (AFHEA) (UK) in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education. She was also awarded a full scholarship by the Curatorium of The Hague Academy of International Law. She received an Honorable Mention in the competition for the Martin Domke Award Best Individual Oralist and the Frédéric Eisenmann Award Best Team Orals of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Between 2014 and 2018, Anastasia gained practical experience at leading international law firms and a national bank for development. Between 2020 and 2024, she was a Research Fellow in the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European, and Regulatory Procedural Law.

Anastasia studied law at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University). She has a BA in Administrative and Financial Law (with honours, 2013), an MA in Private International and Civil Law (with honours and medal, 2015), a Research Teaching Fellow degree (2018), and a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree in Civil Law, Business Law, Family Law and Private International Law (2020). She has completed a doctoral education and training program at the University of Luxembourg. She also holds a certificate in private international law from the Hague Academy of International Law (2024) and a certificate of completion of a legal CI French course tailor-made for students of the Academy.
