About
Due to their empirical nature, current design rules of EN 1994-1-1 for the prediction of the shear capacity of the headed stud shear connectors with profiled steel sheeting deliver unsafe results, especially for modern geometries of the decking. The project ShearCON is aimed at identifying and understanding the mechanical behaviour of the aforementioned shear connectors in order to provide a clear overview of the load-bearing mechanisms with the support of experimental tests (push-out tests, numerical and analytical models. Research Assistant: Valentino VIGNERI PhD-Thesis Title: Load bearing mechanisms of headed stud shear connections in profiled steel sheeting transverse to the beam PhD-Thesis URL: https://hdl.handle.net/10993/46577
