William David Piñeros Gonzalez is a MSCA Post-doctoral fellow in Professor Etienne Fodor’s group Physics of Active Matter at the Department of Physics and Materials Science.

General interests lie in self-organizing processes, collective behavior in non-equilibrium systems and its fundamental description at a physical level. His PhD training involved developing inverse statistical mechanics methods to favor the self-assembly of targeted crystalline phases in colloidal systems. Currently, research efforts are focused on understand rare event behaviors leading to collective effects in active matter, as well as optimal control protocols in multi-body transitions.
