First of all, I would like to express my most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Professor Plapper. Peter was an outstanding member of our Faculty and his loss is deeply felt by all of us.
As we approach the summer break, it’s a great time to reflect on our significant progress this academic year. Our Faculty has seen remarkable new developments in research, education, and our outreach activities.
To improve our efficiency, working groups have been established at the University level, collaborating with central services to streamline existing processes for all FSTM activities. These working groups, composed of administrative and academic personnel, aim to minimize the number of steps leading to decision-making while keeping the university’s missions as the main objectives. As part of our digitization effort, new supporting tools have been designed and deployed to support these initiatives. Examples at the University level include a new travel tool, research support solutions, dashboards for document workflows, an automated room allocator, and the next version of our Enterprise Resource Planning tool.
We have also been working diligently to extend our reach from traditional science communicators and researchers to build a bridge toward the PaKTTO. This effort aims to provide access to the unique ideas and inventions of our FSTM researchers. An innovative platform is foreseen to streamline the process of idea development and commercialization, ensuring that our research can make a real-world impact.
Our ambitious team for FSTM partnerships and megatrends is at the forefront of this initiative. They envision advanced AI-based solutions that will lead to an automated workflow. This workflow will involve all stakeholders, facilitating the maturation of ideas into intellectual property and, ultimately, spin-offs.
We are excited about the potential this holds for enhancing our research capabilities and fostering innovation within our Faculty. As we look forward to the future, we remain committed to supporting our researchers and providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
Wishing you all a peaceful summer break!
